Red Faction 2 "black screen" issue

Hey,

i just noticed that my rf2 also got the "black screen" problem.
I used this patch and try to get it working. Both ways (auto patch and manual patch with hex editor) didn't worked.

I now used a different rf2.exe (not the original .exe from steam) and patched it again manually with the hex editor. The result: it works!

So if anyone with the same problem want to try it, here is my working rf2.exe now: see below

And for safety, vt scan: virus scan

For reference:
I have a Radeon 1950GT with its latest [though, super-old by today’s standards] drivers v10.2, and Vista Business x86. Guess, the problem lies somewhere there.

Oh yeah. Thank you very much. I was almost going to get a NO CD crack for this game to see if that works. Your soultion is much better
