F1 2010 - Unable to unlock game - Page 7

I don't understand how I was able to play the game on Saturday, but come Sunday, the freaking thing fails to load after the intro screens. Two error messages, originally when it first stopped working it said that the F1 2010 executable has failed and now I get another message that says something about Secur blah blah cannot blah blah. So I guess the anti theft cr*ppy program is failing to validate my game copy. What utter tosh.

Steam, please fix this within 24hrs or give me my money back!

So its now 14:00 on Monday 27/9. Still stuck on preload in the Channel Islands.

I would go and get the game from somewhere else but I have already paid and downloaded the content (twice).

I find it so funny, that if I was to download the game illegally, I could be playing by now, but because I bought it, I still can not play!

Question: What is the best way to protect ourselves from illegal downloads?
Answer: Corrupt our legitimatley purchased software with a program that prevents the legal purchaser from using the software!

Result: Bo**ocks

Now (hopefully) playable in Channel Islands, only 4-5 days late. after a 20min defrag which is currently running.

Still it crashes during the opening screens, with the same old F12010exe failed message

Any idea's STEAM guys? No point unlocking the game for everyone if the startup error isn't fixed. There'll just be more folk upset that the failes to load up. Please respond and let me and others with this problem, know what is being done to fix it.

After deleting the saved games folder, my game now runs OK again.

I bought this game on monday the 27th, past the release date. It only said I could preload the game, I assumed this was a minor glitch so I preloaded. After it just said now when the game releases i can play right away. I have tried uninstalling steam, deleting and redownloading, and even several network tricks like connecting to other countries with a proxy to unlock it. I would really like to be able to just play the game. Should I just find a pirated copy on the internet and download that? That way i would be able to play the game.

nevermind the unlock what about the game freeze problem?, i cant start a race going only qualy and practice

Game is stuck at Intro - cant do anything except watch Intro.
When Intro ends, it just starts looping. Want to play.

It doesnt give me a place to use the Steam supplied "CD Key"

I got windows live to pop up , created a windowlive acct.
At windows live, i entered CD Key.
Did the requested update to windows live and still cant play.

One perplexing question - there is like no freakin menu its jsut artifacts of some type. Can watch the movie fine but thats about it.

I also select F1 2010 game to play and this happens popup (preparing to start) but, disappears and nothing happens. Do we all have a problem with computer or steam can't start the game? What's up!!
