Any way to force Sonic 4 to use 32-bit java?
Everytime I wanna play it, i need to uninstall my 64-bit java (in order to use the overlay), that sucks a bit. Not so much for not being able to chat or browse, but because i'd like to know when (exactly) I got my achievements.
Unfortunately, I really need java 64-bit to run at least one piece of software (that doesn't allow to boot otherwise). It's fast to install/uninstall and it doesn't require a reboot, but still... is there any alternative? Last edited by Johnnykey: 03-27-2012 at 12:26 PM. |

Maybe you can specify it in the Windows PATH?
What operating system are you using? |

I don't think that there is any way to force it.
I have x64 java on my windows 7 x64 OS and overlay works. |

Windows 7 Ultimate x64, Q8200, HD5850, 6GB RAM DDR2 (do specs even matter?) Very odd thing if it works for you with x64 java, because AFAIK the Steam overlay doesn't support 64-bit "apps". Unless, of course... you're mysteriously forcing the app to use x84 java (you can have both installed without conflicts). Last edited by Johnnykey: 05-08-2012 at 10:30 AM. |
