Half Life original or Half Life Source ?

Hello again,ppl of Steam forum.I was wondering,should I buy the original Half Life for I don't know,Half Life 1 mods and its expansion packs and stuff like that ? Or should I get the Source version which also comes with Deathmatch source (they said there are still ppl playing HLDM:S) as well as adding new stuff to my Gmod but they said its ♥♥♥♥ty and erm idk.

So which version of Half Life is the best to get ? Also,what exactly does Half Life/Deathmatch Source adds to Gmod ?

I'd recommend you purchase normal Half-Life, not only because it has a load of mods available to it, but because the Source version doesnt bring much to the table concerning graphics. But as you say, if you want the "stuff" for GMod, Source would obviously be more suitable for you.

Both is quite cheap anyway, why not buy both?

Because in my country,its 9.99 multiplied by 3.

I really needed to know what do HL:S gives Gmod so i can judge whether its worth it or not.

HL:S is not even worth a penny ,spend your money on the normal HL + Addons for Mods wich are much better then some models in GMOD.
And yeah ,bots still play HL

MS but real Players ,no.

Get the original. If you install the HD pack it's basically the same anyway. And the original has so many options for mods.

The source version was really a waste of time.

Get the Anthology, it's 5 Euro more than HL and you get OF, BS and TFC, and of course you can then play mods like Sven Co-op or Natural Selection.

Are you sure Natural Selection is a HL1 mod ? It's so pretty....

PS : I already have TFC,so wouldnt that be a waste ?

Opposing Force is a pretty good game IMHO, if you're unsure you can always watch a "let's play" on YouTube.

From everything I've seen, the Source version is not worth having. The normal one you'd get in the Anthology works fine, and doesn't have the issues Source does.

I bought Half Life original a while back and went to play it recently. Worked fine except for some stuttering/flashing on loading, however my gfx drivers were like "corrupted" or something after my first play session of it, as I had to uninstall them and then reinstall (AMD). Things just got glitchy and weird with CCC, even after uninstalling Half Life. What I want to know is if HL: Source would be more compatible/more stable than original.

Does anybody else have issues like that with original HL?
