Danny, how do you keep yourself motivated?

I just graduated from college for game design (don't go to Southern Maine Community College, but that's a different story).

I have tons of designs, a story written out and how it would progress, and how the gameplay would work. I've been teaching myself Python and trying to make up my mind between Maya and Blender.

Basically, I can't keep myself focused. I'll be designing one day, then get distracted and stop working for days. How have you kept yourself motivated to keep working on Gettysburg?

Ignore me if you're too busy

Heh, I was asking myself the same question when I was a student, then I found out the source of the motivation is the same in almost every jobs: schedules, Dead-lines and angry employers spamming your phone with "Are you done yet?"

Heh, I get that Q a lot...I guess the bottom line is that I just like to program games and stuff so it's not really "work", I wish my first offering was more representative of my skills. As far as motivation, I don't know ... I suppose people who want to play the game and who support me are the motivation.... *cue 80s music* you are the wind beneath my wiiiiiings.

:-o

Hi Dan,

Didn't realize this was a one man effort. I must say for all it's faults it's incredible that you've accomplished so much and so so far.

Don't let TB's comments get you down. I'll be watching this space when you iron out the bugs.

Who knows, maybe we got another molyneux in our midst.

I fully agree. A simple tech demo would have been enough to convince me to donate some money to keep Dan motivated. I can't wait to see future projects.
