Why oh why do I still keep getting the dreaded "something bad has happened to your programme".
RW2 was OK ( usually) and I saved a copy kept in quarantine from the dreaded Steam updater.

However I wanted "Woodhead" and it seems it is only usable on TS2012.

Now with TS2012 the freezing ( usually during loading ) is back with avengance.

When it does load, I often lose engine sounds from locos at random and whistles and horns become "strangled" in sound once the loco has run at high speed.

My processer is an I3 2.9GHz, 3GB of RAM, Geforce 210 graphics card, Windows 32 bit op system. Not very high spec, but I'm running with all low settings and frame rate locked to 30fps. I am trying not to run anything else alongside Railworks.
I installed the latest driver for my graphics card and that improved the visuals, but worsened the TS2012 performance.

Any ideas anyone ?

Freezing

Hi,

I'm new here. I bought Railworks 3 yesterday, but I'm slightly disappointed because it freezes occasionally during play. I went on canirunit.com to test my PC and it said it would be fine to run Railworks 3. Not really sure what the problem could is!

And by the looks of things, I'm not the only one having a problem with it freezing!

Please can you all respond to this thread with a list of what you believe is an issue, a problem, a bug or something you feel isn't quite right since the RW3 patch release.
After a week or so I'll painstakingly go through all the posts, copying and pasting all your posts into one large post, that I'll email to the developers so that the team have one larger solid list they can look at.

Please can an Admin or Moderator sticky this post so it doesn't get lost?

Have you downloaded anything recently? Its amazing what 'other' programs can do causing incompatibly issues! Read this http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...0182723AA2GJIx

RW3 uses .NET framework to run the game, if you've used a windows update recently that may have updated .NET or if RW3 have patched anything up then is may have interfered with the settings for the game.

Follow the link above but the goto C:/Program files/Steam/Steamapps/common/railworks/Install in the Install folder you'll find a .NET program designed for RW3 just install and see if it helps. its not called .NET is actually a file called: dotNetFx40_Fullx86_x64

On the class 37 scenario "Surprise Visit" I have an issue where I cannot uncouple from the dead class 37 on the "Drop off (37287) at yard shunt" instruction. I move the dead engine to the yard shunt, and once I press the uncouple button my engine becomes stuck and I can't move at all.

In the Barstow to San Bernardino route

The scenereo 'The Splitter' :

1. At Victorville the driver must pass a red signal to continue the scenereo. I tried waiting for about 40 minutes. Permission to pass the red signal will not be granted.

2. At East Victorville the player is instructed to pick up rolling stock from siding 3. There is no rolling stock on siding 4. Siding 5 has the needed rolling stock. [player must first stop on siding 4 and then go forward, then back up to siding 5 to couple the needed coal cars]

Red face

I had nearly finished a long scenario and then suddenly this error message:
AI driver xy has left path at longitude: 1.2345, latitude: 9.8765
I took a sprint to fetch a piece of paper and a pencil. However, by the time I was back at the computer, the message was long gone.

My request to the dev team: please make this message stay longer (may be even until the user clicks the OK button). The message timeout is so short that most of the time I'm not fast enough to even write down the driver name.

The P42DC Genesis add-on has a problem. When driving the Ridin' The Chief activity (TS2012), the alerter will come on, which is no problem by itself. The Driving Interface does not have the ALERTER icon [!] for this locomotive. If the driver fails to hit the alerter reset the emergency brakes will bring the train to a stop. Any subsequent restart or resume will result the emergency brakes applied at the beginning of the scenario. The driver must reload (the restart or resume) a second time to eliminate the emergency brake engagement.

What I usually do for these sort of errors is hit F12 to take a screenshot using the Steam overlay.

Is it possible to reverse the funtions of 'A' & 'D' so they are compatable with MSTS?

I just remember 'A' for accelerate, and 'D' for decelerate.

This is for the new SD 75.
The brake doesn't begin to apply until 30%. When it does finally apply, it applies with to much force. Can that be right on the real SD 75s?
It makes slow speed handling on grades and in yards difficult.

The air sound on the SD 75 horn. I think it's supposed to be the sound of air wooshing through the horn's valve in the cab, but it it quite audible outside the engine when in exterior views.
The horn is also loud when you are quite far away from the engine, like when zoomed out during an external view.
It sounds like you are in the cab all the time, even when you aren't.
Sullivan's Curve could take a driver a bit farther to Victorville or start you in San Bernardino.

Other than that I like the new engines and cars.
The actual engine sounds and lighting are good.
I got a laugh out of the railfans at track-side.

I had some issues with loading saved scenarios.
If I load a scenario where a train is in movement at the time of saving, I instantly get a message saying the train derailed as soon as the scenario loads.

Simply put, saving a scenario while the train is in motion causes the train to derail when you load the scenario again.
