SP DLC where you play as Ratman would make my life.

I can't figure out how it could be done well, but I'm sure Valve could.

I'd be very happy with this.
I'd also be very happy with more Cave era DLC. Maybe they could even have it take place during one of the actual eras too? Or use the time travelling mentioned to go through all three era's showing aperture building upwards through to the facility in Portal 1. That's a bit silly but hey, it's Portal. :P

That now said, I would imagine that very few test subjects would have succeeded in they're tests carrying around that big prototype Portal 'fridge' gun.

Or you know, F-Stop.

I thought there was more DLC in the pipeline, after the first bit (which is in the square column in the Hub with the 2 vacuum tubes) the new DLC looks like it's going to go in the other column diagonnaly across the Hub.

The new DLC is not a new course. It is a level editor.
Even if it was a new course, it would still use the column with the pipes. If you notice inside, there is a button that allows you to select which course you want to play, as well as a seperate button that lets you select the chamber you want to play.

I think the idea of this topic, is to discuss a possible SP DLC campaign, since Chell gets set free at the end of SP, and thus can't really come back in a new SP campaign. Unless Valve can find a genius solution, for example if Chell would be to continue the experience outside Aperture Science somehow. But I think that would be something for Portal 3 rather. .

I'd love another SP campaign. Co-op is fun, and it's a nice break from the norm to sit down with a friend and carry on in a game, but when I really want to get into something being able to sit down by myself and get immersed in it is what makes it for me.

As for the context... One set in Cave's era would be nice. I'd like to see more of Caroline. Honestly, though, I'd be fine with just about anything they could come up with as long as it expands upon the story (and characters).
