JoyToKey XBOX 360 Controller Config
The game doesn't officially support an XBOX 360 Controller, so I thought I'd share my configuration file for JoyToKey.
Make a new file.cfg in the folder of JoyToKey, and copy paste the code below into it (you can use WordPad). The controls are as follows: D-Pad for movement ABXY for directional shooting Right Trigger for bombing Left Trigger for items Enjoy! Code:
[General] FileVersion=37 NumberOfJoysticks=1 Use8Axes=1 UseDiagonalInput=0 UsePOV=1 Threshold=0 KeySendMode=0 [Joystick 1] Axis1n=0 Axis1p=0 Axis2n=0 Axis2p=0 Axis3n=1, 10:00:00, 0 Axis3p=1, 20:00:00, 0 Axis4n=0 Axis4p=0 Axis5n=0 Axis5p=0 Axis6n=0 Axis6p=0 Axis7n=0 Axis7p=0 Axis8n=0 Axis8p=0 POV1-1=1, 57:00:00, 0 POV1-2=1, 44:00:00, 0 POV1-3=1, 53:00:00, 0 POV1-4=1, 41:00:00, 0 POV2-1=0 POV2-2=0 POV2-3=0 POV2-4=0 Up-Right=0 Up- Left=0 Dn- Left=0 Dn-Right=0 Button01=1, 28:00:00, 0 Button02=1, 27:00:00, 0 Button03=1, 25:00:00, 0 Button04=1, 26:00:00, 0 Button05=0 Button06=0 Button07=0 Button08=0 Button09=0 Button10=0 Button11=0 Button12=0 Button13=0 Button14=0 Button15=0 Button16=0 Button17=0 Button18=0 Button19=0 Button20=0 Button21=0 Button22=0 Button23=0 Button24=0 Button25=0 Button26=0 Button27=0 Button28=0 Button29=0 Button30=0 Button31=0 Button32=0 |

I didn't quite like the one you set up, so here's a modified version that I set up for JoyToKey 5.0.3. I also labelled the 360 functions, if anyone new to the program wants to swap mappings around easily.
Just make a file named "The Binding of Isaac.txt" in your JoyToKey folder, and rename it "The Binding of Isaac.cfg" after you've saved the following text in it. Code:
[General] FileVersion=51 NumberOfJoysticks=1 DisplayMode=3 UseDiagonalInput=0 UsePOV8Way=0 Threshold=70 Threshold2=300 KeySendMode=0 [Joystick 1] Axis1n=1, 41:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Left Thumbstick Left Axis1p=1, 44:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Left Thumbstick Right Axis2n=1, 57:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Left Thumbstick Up Axis2p=1, 53:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Left Thumbstick Down Axis3n=1, 25:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Right Thumbstick Left Axis3p=1, 27:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Right Thumbstick Right Axis4n=1, 26:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Right Thumbstick Up Axis4p=1, 28:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Right Thumbstick Down Axis5n=1, 45:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Right Trigger Axis5p=1, 45:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Left Trigger Axis6n=0 Axis6p=0 Axis7n=0 Axis7p=0 Axis8n=0 Axis8p=0 POV1-1=1, 57:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##D-Pad Up POV1-2=0 POV1-3=1, 44:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##D-Pad Right POV1-4=0 POV1-5=1, 53:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##D-Pad Down POV1-6=0 POV1-7=1, 41:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##D-Pad Left POV1-8=0 POV2-1=0 POV2-2=0 POV2-3=0 POV2-4=0 POV2-5=0 POV2-6=0 POV2-7=0 POV2-8=0 Up-Right=0 Up- Left=0 Dn- Left=0 Dn-Right=0 Button01=1, 28:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##A Button02=1, 27:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##B Button03=1, 25:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##X Button04=1, 26:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Y Button05=1, 20:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Left Bumper Button06=1, 51:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Right Bumper Button07=1, 20:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Back Button08=1, 50:00:00:00, 0.000, 0, 0 ##Start Button09=0 ##Left Thumbstick Button10=0 ##Right Thumbstick Button11=0 Button12=0 Button13=0 Button14=0 Button15=0 Button16=0 Button17=0 Button18=0 Button19=0 Button20=0 Button21=0 Button22=0 Button23=0 Button24=0 Button25=0 Button26=0 Button27=0 Button28=0 Button29=0 Button30=0 Button31=0 Button32=0 Up-Right2=0 Up- Left2=0 Dn- Left2=0 Dn-Right2=0
Where do I get JoyToKey? JoyToKey is a shareware program which you may download from links on [their website]. No install required. A license key for the full version costs $7, but you do not need to buy it to just use it. Last edited by Highwind II: 04-06-2012 at 03:12 PM. Reason: Added JoyToKey links. |

Or use Xpadder, seems a bit easier to use than the above...

I was going to post it as an alternative, but the last freeware version of it is 5.3 from 2008. Newer versions of Xpadder are not free to use, from what I can tell. Xpadder's main edge is a visual interface for configuring joypads, although I'd assume this only supports controllers that predate 2009, which the 360 controller does.
How you think downloading a program and saving a text file is somehow hard is just beyond my imagination, though. |
