1. 99% of the people who use it use it for WoW.
2. It used to be WoW only.

the fact that it used to be only for WoW was learned from mainstream history books

the fact that 99% of people use it for WoW only comes from psionic polling.

It's not much a direct connection as a shortcut.
But do not take me too seriously, as i don't use the tool.
But about ISPs having 'direct' connection for some.services it's something usually happens. Specially for high requeriment services. (Not Blizzard though)

I haven't ever heard of this. Content can be cached by your ISP (think: netflix), but for a service where you HAVE to make an end-to-end connection like a game, it's not possible to do that.

Actually, WTFast recently released the new engine 2.0+ beta, which supports basically every PC based online game. We'd love to get your feedback here to know how it works for you, or send an e-mail to support@wtfast.com. The new engine is beta, so we know there are some games that still need to be tweaked, but we are working hard at it based on user feedback we receive. =)

I got things mixed up. :P
I thought WTFast would work like some sort of 'Peering Agreement' between providers, as some of the benefits of those agreements is reducing some network bottlenecks by setting up more direct paths between services.

But the more i delve into WTFast, the less i like the service.
They seem to offer nothing more than a VPN/proxy service. So, so start, results may vary (you can even get more lag, location dependant, as some users report)
And considering that all traffic is set up through them... well i dislike the fact of having all my traffic (including auth packages) through a 'third party'
It just smells fishy to me... But i'm a paranoid old man.

Actually for popular games, we prefer configuring the games for "login with my own IP", this means the encrypted login process doesn't actually go through our servers. You can see this by watching the WTFast traffic monitor window for games that support this feature.

We have over 60 different servers worldwide, with chaining support for TCP games already available, and UDP chain support coming soon. With WTFast we can basically control your game data flow from end to end, that is our goal. This allows us to use dozens of possible connections to optimize your game. We are still making improvements to our new release (it is in beta currently). Any feedback is appreciated, we are working on tweaks for FPS games that aren't working as intended, but we will have it working soon.

WTFast.com - Definitely Not A Scam

Hi all. I can confirm that WTFast is definitely not a scam. We're working on improving the perception of WTFast.com right now but rest assured this is a completely legitimate business.

The way it works is that WTFast uses a network of proxy servers to short-cut the distance between your computer and the host game server. Currently most publishers have a long daisy chain of servers between you and the game server. Each node and server your game data passes through has the chance of being lost or delayed. If you remove more links of the chain, you improve the speed of exchange of data and increase successful connection.

Some people have asked why they don't just get a faster internet connection. Well, for one thing your ISP only controls the data within their own network and once it's out of their hands you're still beholden to the same risks as described above. Also online game data are actually small packets of information so widening the 'pipe' doesn't necessarily help. WTFast vastly increases the safe delivery of those packets of information.

One description we use is that WTFast is an ISP for gamers.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to our support team. Better still, don't just take my word for it, try the service completely for free on WTFast.com.

I'd like to get an answer from some VALVe member. If it's secure, i'd like to give it a try.

Same here. My ISP sends data all over the place, I would be interested in this program.

It will be a long wait.

They tend not to give information on VAC other than what is already on their support link, that being said, a program/service of this nature would not trigger a VAC ban. It's the same thing as gamerail was.

Oh really? Guess what, it's not. How should Valve determinate if I am using a VPN or not?

Not that difficult actually.
You can talk to all the people who purchased (cheaper) russian MW3 Keys, activated them via a russian VPN...and got their games revoked.
