Suggestions on remote controls?

Hello,

I am looking for a remote control for my computer, like this one:

Then I started looking at some Logitech ones that work for both my computer and all my TV's and stuff, but I'm not sure about the high price tags on those.

So I'm just wondering if anyone here has anything they could recommend, or insights or whatever.

Specifically, I would like something that, on the computer side, is user supported. I don't necessarily mean open source, but something like my logitech lcd keyboard where they released an api/sdk where people can program their own stuff. I say this because I want to buy a remote that will have support for applications released 5 years from now.

Right now I am using a wiimote for my PC via bluetooth, there's a nice little scripting language that has been developed for it but I find that I am in need of more buttons than the wiimote provides, hence my search for a new remote.

So yeah, that's my question, I just want suggestions on PC remotes. Sorry if I am rambling.
