This has to be one of the unsung tragedies of game development... the studio was humming along fine for a while, then all of a sudden - POOF - any and all superheroism disappeared.
What happened? Will we ever see another isometric superhero management/tactical game? Though in need of additional mechanical depth, these games were absolutely fun. The last sniffle I heard was about interest in doing a slightly more serious incarnation ala X-Men. Last edited by Warlok: 04-09-2012 at 01:11 PM. Reason: crappy grammar |

I don't think the second FF sold as well. Plus Irrational Games went on to make the Bioshock series. Maybe after Bioshock Infinite, they'll work on a third Freedom Force. I think they did plan a third one set in the 70s, and there's even some artwork around for it.

It would be nice to know if Irrational still has an inkling to do such a game. Hopefully they might find time & resources to tear away from 'big' stuff and return to the hero realm, especially in this more indie-friendly environment.

Maybe they can do it Left-4-Dead style, 4-player co-op.

I remember seeing concept art from Irrational that showed off Man-Bot and Eve if they were in the modern age of comics. Perhaps there might be hope after all.

I remember reading that they were done with the Freedom Force games. Can't remember the reason though. Sad really. It's an awesome game.
