Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Installation Failing

Tried 3 times not and getting same error.

After downloading and installing the update, computer reboots and once it's back in windows i get the message saying the installation was not successful.

ERROR_PATH_NOT_FOUND 0x80070003.

I've tried disabling my anti-virus and it didn't help.

Yeah i did this and all i could find was to turn off anti-virus and as i said, already tried it.

Maybe not related, but do you have another boot loader like grub ? I had the SP1 refusing to install if windows would be launched via grub installed on another disk.

I avoid installing two o.s. on the same disk so a simple solution was to boot directly to windows via F8 (Asus board) and selecting the right windows disk. Strange but it worked.

Nope nothing like that it's odd, all other windows updates have installed successfully.

Just download it separately and install, problem solved.

On this page someone mentioned running MS Update as Admin.

I don't know if this will fix everyone's problem, but I solved this error by selecting "run Microft Update as Administrator". It seems that, even though my user is an administrator account, some of the system files were hidden to my account and coudn't be changed during the update process.
