Article about predictions in Limits To Growth
http://www.smithsonianmag.com/scienc...of-Growth.html
Apparently the predictions in The Limits To Growth have proven pretty accurate from 1972 to 2000. The article features a pretty graph showing a phenomenon very familiar to FotW beginners. The current version of FotW is somewhat more optimistic, with the visible collapse of civilisation beginning as late as the 2050s, but it's the same process. |

Hmm, just in case there's any doubt, note that I'm talking about a business-as-usual FotW strategy here, where you sit back and let things take their course without playing any cards. Obviously things can stay rosy beyond 2060 if you play your cards right (hint: oil is important!
).I must admit I've taken that article at face value and not looked any deeper into the Limits To Growth predictions. For instance, why does the article only discuss the accuracy of the predictions up to 2000? |
