CS:GO LAN Option?

My brother was over last night and we both have the CS:GO beta. It's been quite a while since we've played CS so we wanted to get in a game together and just face bots. However, everytime we create a game, the other couldn't join even tho we were in the same room. I tried opening the console and type sv_lan 0, but that didn't work either. Any idea how to do something like this?

At this time in the beta, there is no Lan support, but it will come with the release.

If you create a listen server, can't you just have friends join through console?

It's defaulted SV_LAN 1, changing it to 0 would presumably (if all ports are open/etc) make it an online server.

Thread Op: I'd also try having Windows Firewall disabled completely on the computer that's running the server. If he's just trying to join off of friends, it's probably not going to work.

Also on the hosts machine, open Start > Run > Cmd > and type ipconfig

Get the IP address (typically it'll be something like 192.168.0.6) and after you start the server up, try connecting from the other computer through console (Connect 192.168.X.X etc.)

to play with friends open the port 27015 TCP and UDP in your windows firewall. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQPvK5nq04g

go to http://whatismyipaddress.com/ there you'll get your ip

open CS GO > create a Match > JOIN

then sent your IP:Port for example(192.168.0.6:27015) to your friend
if he write
connect 192.168.0.6:27015
in the console he should be able to join
