Application Error

When launching Bloodrayne 2 I receive a popup box that is an application error and states "Failed to find Steam." and then pops my browser open to the Steam store page. I am using Win 7 64 bit (Ultimate Edition) with all current service packs and updates.

Ideas? Suggestions?

try and delete clientregistry.blob and then try again
