Did anybody else notice?

Does anybody else notice when the gravity gun changes back?

I can never see when it does, and when Alyx says "Oh the gravity gun is back to normal" I'm like "WTF, when did it change?!" So I'm just wondering if it's a subtle change from blue to orange or it just changes instantly? I can never see where it does.. Haha.

at the first playtrough i was the same, but in on of the later ones, i paid attention. On your next playtrough do the same and you'll find it.

The gravity gun changes back exactly after you power-up the last energy beam, just before the door opens (chapter Direct Intervention, where you need to restabilize the reactor core). You can also see how the suit energy replenishes because of the radiation.

I never noticed when exactly the Gravity Gun changed until I watched that GooseGoose video on the game.

No, it's actually DROPPING.

I think they mean, when you add health the number is doubled because of the ubercharge.

Look at the color at the top of the barrel. Normally it's orange, but turns blue when it get super charged. It's a change that's easy to miss.

The Citadel chargers did that before in HL2. So it's not right.

Oh. Then I apologize, I never linked that to the gun's state. When the charger fails to do so after containing the chamber I always thought it was the containment overcharge that broke it, not the gun being back to normal.

Yes, it's dropping, sorry. After the core is restabilised, the radiation drains all the suit's power. BTW, the core chamber has an astonishing level design (great for 2006, still great in 2012). It's impressive how you can do great with little graphical resources, and a lot of imagination and finesse.
