The biggest bug was related to the Pyro.

Coincidence?

Has anyone noticed why these bugs exist?

If robots are coming, these weapons should work on robots, while they still share attributes with buildings to be resistant against things like the cow mangler.

They did this so we can get uber from hitting robot classes etc.

As anti-climactic as it sounds, there could be no feasible "big optimization/bug fix" update. The game's scale, the small team working on the game, and the potential for a bug fix to cause more bugs is the reason why the TF2 team have been releasing small fixes and optimizations in increments. Not only (do I imagine) that it gives them more flexibility in fixing them, but allows them to pinpoint and gauge any further potential bugs in a more streamlined way. Imagine having to do that with a big update—it would be a nightmare.

That's not clever. That's just a direct rip of an in-game voice line.
