MW3 can't connect to online services

Let me first off tell you what DOESN'T work:

I don't have that type of connection, so it won't work for me. I don't have a netgear router, and this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OKBnYV-xt8

tells me to change my "r_mul" from 0 to 1, or vice versa. problem is, My config files doesn't even have am "r_mul" or "r_multigpu"

I've tried many solutions, but this is what confuses me the most: it works sometimes. Sometimes, when I start up steam, it works just fine. Then sometimes, it won't let me at all. I'll still have an internet connection, and I disabled all my antivirus stuff. please help!

I get the same msg, anyone have any answers? The Youyube vid does not work for me either. I have sent in a ticket for help but no answer from them.

I had the same problem when I tried to play MW3 during the free weekend... I find no answers... opening ports, tried configs, no solution, so GTFO Activision, I won't buy your games anymore if you can't even let me play a free weekend.

Try to off router for 10 secs, then go on, always work for me, but only for 2-3~ weeks.
