Doesn't Work :'(

Basically, as soon as it loads up, the sound is extremely laggy/stuttery so much so that you can't understand anything.

If you skip the loading pages, the Menu is very laggy - cursor takes a while to respond. And the game itself and the cutscenes are just as bad - unwatchable/unplayable.

The specification requirements for the game are:

As far as I am aware, all my drivers are up to date. I tried to update them earlier and it said they were.

So as far as I can see, It should work.

Would anyone happen to have any suggestions as to what the problem may be? What I could do?

Don't have a solution, just wanted to say I was having an identical problem. The slow response of the cursor isn't too bad but the sound skipping and lagging in cutscenes takes away from my ability to enjoy the game.

I have:
Vista
Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB Ram
Radeon 4850HD

And it plays smoothly, no problems whatsoever so it might be something with Win7 or the NVIDIA graphics card?
I have Win7 and NVIDIA on my laptop, I might try and install it there to check for you.

Also when starting the game try opening it with 'admin rights' or so

I had the same issue with the demo on Core 2 Duo, Win 7 x64, Intel 4500mhd. Except in my case the intro videos and cutscenes would crash to desktop when they were over, unless I skipped them. This is why I avoided picking the game up on sale.

There are three potential workarounds I googled, which either didn't help or didn't apply to me:
1. Try manually running the DirectX setup from the game install directory
2. In compatibility options Disable Desktop Composition and Visual Themes for the game's executable(s)
3. Skip every cutscene and watch them on youtube.

Win 7 Home 64-bit
AMD Athlon II X4 @ 2.8 GHz
8 GB Installed RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 450 Graphics
Direct X 11

All my drivers are up to date. I am downloading the game and will keep you posted on how it runs. Hang in there.
