nothing to see here, nothing I didn't already know and haven't been preaching about.

Just surprised the dev-team hasn't been as dynamically shifting in size.

This marks the FOURTH time in the last 13 months they have talked about that it's dangerous to give information because the constant-ally shifting twists and turns of development would be innappropriate.

Did we need to know of the prequel version of portal2 DURING development - no, it's fine after release but during, then we'd be kicking off about not getting this f-stop game.

but even the "confirmation" of a larger game, being constantly worked on none stop since the orange box (and with an extrapolated project timeline during ep1 and ep2 development).
People will slap on the expectation of a 5 year dev cycle of HL2 onto the next half life game, when it might take longer or less? Regardless of what it takes, people expectation of what "they" consider a valid production time will be tossed into this mix.

Weren't Ep1 and Ep2 largely made separately, and then the Ep1 team mostly moved on to Ep3 after they finished?

At any rate Valve has been working on Ep3 in some form since at least Ep1's completion, because the helicopter battle in Ep2 was actually taken from the Ep3 development.

Every valve game was ported to source except ricochet.
