Yes, I verified the cache and it does not fix it. I always try everything before posting anything on the forums.

Verifying the cache finds one failure and re downloading it does nothing. I start the game -> application malfunction.

Ok, it was the ISWSCV.exe (which I did uninstall by removing zonealarm toolbar, but it was still there). I can now start the game by very quickly starting the game before ISWSCV.exe restarts again.

The game starts. I can watch the intro. I can access the options, but I couldn't change any key bindings. Then I thought "Ok w/e I'll just try it out for now.". I look at the opening cinematic and when the level actually begins I CAN'T DO ANYTHING! I can't move, can't access the options NOTHING and the only way to close the game is by shutting the process down from the task manager.

I seriously want to slit my wrists here.

EDIT: Just adding that the game doesn't seem like it's in tilt because I can still here the sounds.

Completely removed ZoneAlarm and installed F-Secure instead. The game now starts without problems but the same problem still continues with the key bindings and moving (see post above).

[Solais]

Open the console (with F1 or ~ key, the key near 1 that is not 2), and type in inp_bRawInput=0 . With this, you'll be able to move, only the mouse wheel won't be working properly. This is a known bug caused by the latest patch, the fix for it should be coming out really soon.

And yes, ZoneAlarm is one software that can cause problems. F-Secure is the other.
