Smile New Portal 2 DLC Releases May 8th

http://store.steampowered.com/news/7842/

Quote:
Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the free Portal 2 DLC titled "Perpetual Testing Initiative" will be available for the PC and Mac on May 8th.

The "Perpetual Testing Initiative" allows players to easily create, share, and play Portal 2 puzzles. The Initiative comes with a simplified puzzle maker that allows that creation of mind-bending puzzles without ever leaving the game.

The puzzle maker can directly publish maps to the Steam Workshop where users can browse, vote on, and select to play them. Selected puzzles will automatically be downloaded and installed inside Portal 2.

Portal 2 holds a Metacritic score of 95% and has been awarded numerous Game of Year awards. It features expansive single and cooperative multiplayer game modes.

It wasn't hard to put the links together between the puzzle creator announced in 2011 and the workshop only having two games, but I'm still excited for it. It'll be great to see maps that don't require knowledge of/patience with Hammer to make, and are much simpler to install.

I imagine there will be a way to upload existing maps to the workshop, it would be surprising if there wasn't.

And this proves that Valve never leaves their current games, which continues to update for free and with all the comforts of Steam. Very good and wait for the May 8 and see those tools.

I'm sure there will be, if not when the DLC comes out then probably in the Spring Sale..

It was 7.49 USD during the holiday sale...

Awesome. Love the Steam Workshop [especially since the Skyrim Nexus is super buggy, at least for me] and I'm glad more games are being added
