Stuck

I can't figure out what the heck I'm supposed to do

I'm at that part in the beginning where you have to take the heart of that flying demon who lives in a church. I have to get a sword to unlock one of the doors and I go in to the top area where this half-life cieling creature has a statue's head in it's tongue but..what the heck do I do?

also - tricks to getting whatever those yellow glowy things are that I always see up high and out of reach?

You have to throw one of those exploding red bomb things at it to make it drop the statue. The best way to to it is to enter "aim mode". I'm not sure how to do this with a K/M setup, but on the controller I think pushing down on the left or right stick.

see that's what I thought I was supposed to do, but the timer for that thing makes it blow up in my face before I can even get to the door to open it and then throw it. =(

I think you're trying to release the stone that's hanging too early, you shouldn't have to carry a bomb through the door. You wont be able to use the yellow things that are in the air until a fair bit later in the game.

the only other bomb in the area is on the opposite side of the hanging glotle stop thing and I can't get to it =(

Thats the one you need to use. you can throw objects at the bombs to set them off, helps a little before you get the necessary weapon. I got a bit stuck there too
