Paranormal Europe Mod

Just was thinking about a mod to introduce vampires and lycanthropes to the game. Not only can you or your court become infected, but random events regarding the paranormal can occur. Like "Peasants report of missing children in the villages and swear it's a werewolf." It can have several options for your ruler to take with all the reactions plus a chance to become infected if you try to hunt. Vampires automatically get Bloodlust, etc. Maybe raises your Martial ability. Chaplains get a chance to uncover a hive of vamps or clutch of weres in addition to heretics during inquisition. You could receive traits like "Doubting Thomas" if you continously refuse to hunt for the paranormal.

This wouldn't be too much of a change as it would just introduce these encounters and traits within the vanilla game. With that being said, how do I mod this game in the first place?

This sounds like an excellent and ambitious plan. I'd love to see a fantasy mod for CK2 and think it'd be a perfect fit. TBH, I don't know why Paradox doesn't make a fantasy CK game in the first place.

You'll first need to make a unique folder for your mod, add events, add traits, create a forum thread to display this ingenious idea, and maybe get some art.

I'd go here to get started and learn more about modding:

(Need to register the game to see it)

I had to edit this reply.

It's a brilliant idea !! .. It could even make this game more popular, and more fun. And being a mod it would be optional so those that prefer the game as is need not fear.

James, thanks for the link!

Yeah, as far as the fantastic elements, I'm not really proposing a full-on fantasy world with elves, dwarves, etc, but just a little bit of supernatural flair lodged within the base rules. Although these personalities occurred later than the scope of this game, Vlad Tepisch, Erzebet Bathory and Gilles DeRais come to mind. Events like exorcisms (for a price) and a wandering gypsy cure - or curse - can happen (for an even larger price). Further, you could even have stuff like the birth of the Illuminati or Merovingian elite make an appearance (dunno if they are already in the game. Forgive me if this is so).

However...a Drangonlance War would be sweet! Krynn is an IP that few games have touched in recent years. Man, I loved that series. Another cool idea would be Twilight 2000 Warlords. Little fiefdoms and feudal states croppping up in the post-nuclear wasteland of that alternate timeline. If anyone remembers that PnP game.

Anyway, if I never get around to doing this, someone please feel free to whip it together!
