The game nobody talks about: Half-Life 3 Deathmatch
There's all this talk from fans about hl3, but what about hl3 deathmatch? I honestly liked playing hl2 deathmatch while it lasted and all the really cool co-op mods for it. but honestly I liked it more than hat fortress 2 and CS.
Valve always treats tf2 and Cs, but I'd like for HL Deathmatch to get the same respect. One of things that bothered me was the laggy physics and the sounds, compared to regular hl2 and not having Alyx as a playable character but rather generic rebel citizens. |

I HIGHLY doubt valve will release another deathmatch, it's "too hard" for modern gamers and this version barely got any support, not to mention it was coded by one person in less than a months time.
The $100k Verizon tournament was humiliating in regards to the turnout, the genre is "too hard", quake live now exists and valve is leaning toward more casual game play. Should they bother with an MP version of half life again, it will be from the ground up and probably have 0% advanced movement. |

Nobody wants to play it because there is this obsession with modern warfare type games (BF and COD), it would probably be a throw in, though.
It's pretty sad that nobody likes arena style games (Quake, unreal tourny, MOHAA, Mechwarrior, HLDM, etc.) anymore. |

Personally i dont want a new half life deathmatch game.
What i do want is valve to finally fix all the bugs and add features valuable to the community for this game. |

I think if it does happen it will happen the same way hl2dm happened. Or atleast i would hope so, cause if valve get involved in making it into an actual mp game its going to suck balls.

I agree, I play hl2dm for the great custom maps and mods. We don't need hats and promo items like tf2, just bug fixes.

I don't think Valve would make HL3DM and even if they did the movement would be slow/bad. If HL3 gets made, I bet someone would make a DM Mod for it anyway.

Gabe Newell said they were done making single player only games, from this I think it would be safe to assume there would be either:
A Separate Coop Story arc like Half Life Decay or A new HL2 Deathmatch which seems like the more likely option. |
