What is important in a build streaming and recording gameplay for youtube?
I just want to know which parts or important to have a good build for Streaming and being able to record at least 720p videos. I would like to put more videos on my youtube. I am planing on buying a gaming rig but just wondering if my build will work well with streaming/recording as well.
My build right now: CPU - i5-2500k GPU - Radeon 7950 Thanks! |

If you can find a good deal on an i7 equivalent that might be a good idea (hyperthreading)

I haven't heard many good things about the newest Intel CPU so I think if i7 would help I might try to get a i7-2600k if I am able to make enough money in the summer

Depends if you're overclocking. If you're not, IVB will edge out sandy somewhat and consume less power too.

Forget a i7, get yourself a fast dedicated hard drive to record to. The i5 2500k you already have will be sufficient.

Would a 7200 RPM HDD be enough since I plan on getting one just for videos. I plan on using an SDD for the games which would only be like 100GBs.

Also with streaming you will need good internet at least decent upload speeds. For recording I would still pick up an IVB i7-3770k since its the same price as the 2600k and overclocking unless your going crazy wont be a big deal.

Will these Cores become the next like i5-2500k and i7-2600k since I know a lot of people haven't been saying many good things about the new Intel Cores

The complaints are mostly that you can't overclock past 4.5ghz easily with an air cooler. Other than that IVB is better in every way. Plus it has improved IPC so unless you're going to be pushing your 2500k to 4.8ghz+, it won't matter.

Exactly 4.5ghz on air is plenty with only bumping voltage another 140mV get the i7-3770k you wont regret it. As well if you ever want to transcode your files quick sync on the i7-3770k is unmatched

The best solution is a two computer setup.
Otherwise you just buy the best with what your willing to spend it on. Second monitor is a necessity for responsible streaming, bad habits arise when you are showing your login screens. And yeah, if you plan on streaming 720p quality (note the word quality here) you'll probably need atleast 3-4 up. |
