Steam Overlay Stopped working

The overlay was working fine yesterday, I stopped playing and came back to it and it won't work. I've restarted everything and no change.

It seems when the overlay isn't working then the Steam achievements don't unlock, because I'm missing quite a few acheievements. Is there anyway to sinc the achievements with GFWL? Is there any way to save the game to the Steam cloud and just not log into GFWL?

I still can't get it to work. It works with every other game, it even works with Mass Effect 3. But it won't work with Batman.

Any help?

I got it working, finally! I had to start the game in windowed mode, and for whatever reason that enabled the overlay. After that I switched back to full screen and it worked.

(Such a great game. Just finished the 440/440 Riddler challenges.)
