Or that in this viable universe Aperture Science is only in a video game. But being highly improbable doesn't mean that it doesn't exist in the multiverse itself. I think despite being absolutely mad the sheer ammount of almost identical universes to this one (save one small life-altering event) is astronomical and very easy for exploitation. Believe me it's complicated stuff, they use multi-dimensional differential equations for the multiverse theory (of quantum mechanics).

maybe a different Aperture science thought of the multiverse idea first, fooled aperture into building it and then stole it away but got a the coordinates wrong

Replace the word mutiverse with the word Borealis and I think we have a viable explanation for why the Borealis disappeared.
