Mouse accel still suck?

It's been a few years since I've played Dead Space. I loved the atmosphere of the game, but unfortunately the crappy console port mouse acceleration made the game unplayable.

Has this been fixed in DS2, or is that just another theoretically-good-but-completely-unplayable console port as well?

In Dead Space 1 turn off vertical sync - that fixes the Mouse problem.

I remember, the problem was solved in dead space 2.

I can confirm that vsync is the problem.

Installed it last night, terrible mouse lag. Went straight to options and turned off vsync, no mouse lag.

the mouse/camera still feels off? Is that just me or??? If someone recognizes what I mean, can ya tell me if there are any other tweak options for mouse?

It feels off because there is still a deadzone in the mouse movement. (a console holdover) This means that if you move the mouse very slowly, there will be no movement in the game. I don't think this problem still exists in ds2, though.

If you force vsync on in your graphics card's control panel, and turn it off in the game, that should stop the problems with the mouse.

Wow, I should have read this post before buying this game on the sale today. This game is completely implayable for me, even with vsinc turned off, the movement still feels off, and I get wierd lines appearing on the flashing strobe lights.

Oh well, I guess I'll just get the 360 version.

Does the second game have this problem too?

No, the second game doesn't have this control issue.

You can also try playing with your 360 controller, which should just control like you're playing on the 360.

Why would Steam sell broken game? It's damn unplayable and why do i have to waste time looking for the damn fix to play it???

I've disabled Vsync, FPS is great however camera control is damn too slow, takes me to move mouse 4 times in order to rotate 360 degree. Do they really think i'll dare to face monsters moving like tard?

Bad part is it's so damn wrong to play Dead Space 2 which is working fine, without finishing first one.

If the camera isn't moving right, then do as said above. Disable vsync in-game, but force it on for the game in NVidia Control Panel or NVidia Inspector/the Catalyst control panel.

Here's another thread discussing the issue:
http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2671623

I have tried everything suggested in that/this thread as well as on various other sites. Nothing has resolved the issue for me, sadly. I've let the fps flow on its own, fixed fps at 60, fixed fps at 30 and my mouse speed between free look and aim mode always remains way off.

One of the better articles I found detailing what I am seeing:
http://techreport.com/discussions.x/16061

I am playing the game in short bursts, 30mins here 30mins there, until the mouse issue drives me bat crazy. Cool atmosphere and I liked the movie that was done years ago so I am determined to work my way, all be it slowly, through to the end.

I mainly wanted to add to this thread so that people playing on a PC that don't have a lot of expendable income for games are aware that this is a potential issue. In some cases it sounds like people are able to resolve the issue. In other cases, like mine, the issue remains unresolved.
