Can't do anything in coop.

My friend loads into the game, he cant move, turn, or do anything. None of the controls respond. The game isn't frozen, but he cant tab out, minimize, use the task manager or anything. Any ideas?

Its not just coop either, he just tried single player, fails there as well.
