Controller drops out

This could be one of those mysterious problems that goes away on its own, but I've been having Xbox 360 controller problems lately. First playing the game a few months ago, no trouble. Starting the game now, no trouble. But maybe 10-15 minutes in, it just seems to stop accepting controller commands. Alt+tabbing out shows that the controller is still working in other applications. Checked the other attached pad to see if for some reason it had switched control to it, but no. Keyboard commands still work, so at least I can still save progress.
