Problem with gamepad configuration

Hi, everybody, I just bought this game yesterday, and when I try to configure the controller, it won't recognize my gamepad. Any ideas on how to solve it?

Try using X360CE (a tool that emulates the XBox 360 controller), since Sonic 4 Episode 1 only supports XInput controllers (XBox 360 controller and others based on it, like the Logitech F series):
http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/

for other people with this problem (like me): you have to put the files inside the installation directory. then it worked for me.

X360CE worked great for me. Sonic CD, Sega Mega Collection and Sonic Generations all worked fine on their own after using the configuration utility, but Sonic 4 Episode 1 and 2 didn't work correctly at all (no control if the game even launched). I added the configured binary for my Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2 to each game's directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sonic the hedgehog 4 ep #). I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

Any updates? I got this to work in Episode 1 but not 2....

EDIT: Never mind, I just got Episode 2 to work by deleting the dinput8.dll file I downloaded.
