The Solemn Vow.

I really like the Solemn Vow.

So I made one.

It's not finished yet (as you can tell) but it's a fine addition to any Medic's weapon collection.

Many people say that really, the Solemn Vow is useless. But everyone also says it's OP compared to the bonesaw because you can see enemy health. I'm not sure why there are complaints over this wonderful weapon. Plus, not many people actually take the time to pause and look at people's health. Spies included.

On a similar note, I wonder why they didn't go for the Spy's Head On A Stick idea? Scout has a Spy's arm, so Medic really ought to have a Spy's head on a stick. I know there is a skin for this (which I used to have) but I think it would make for a cool, separate weapon. Something along the lines of:

The Postponed Post-mortem
Level 10 decapitated head on a stick
Allows player to see enemy's health.
Repeatedly insults you.
"Kill me."
"Later..."

Anyway, rambling over.

What did you make the head out of?

People think that anything is UP if it's not the Ubersaw. They do not value information, but it can be vital. Would you start shooting needles to the other side of the map? No. What if there's a 3HP Heavy there?

It's an upgrade to stock, but is definately not OP. There is a difference, mind you.

Also what's that model made of? Soap?

Also, medic, you forgot a very special downside.

It's made from cheap, old white clay that I stole from school over a year ago. The handle is a cardboard tube.

People don't value information, you're right. I suppose minor upgrades compared to stock weapons aren't that bad. The Axtinguisher is HORRIBLY OP compared to Pyro's fire axe, but the Solemn Vow (and the Amputator and Vita-saw) don't offer almost game-breaking effects.

Also, no one complains that the Ubersaw is OP against stock. 20% firing rate is like 10% less fire resistance.

Honestly,saying the Solemn Vow is OP just because it gives you a minor upgrade without downsides is very silly. Same with the Amputator and the Third Degree.

Anyway,nice work with that bust

It's definitely useful, but you gotta be willing to trade-off the massive bonuses of the ubersaw or the vita-saw. And if you are, that's great—all part of the increase flexibility of this game.

The solemn vow is awesome, one of the best medic weapons period.

Also I just had a thought to why the medic didn't use the spy head: what if the solemn vow is modeled after the spy's' grandfather?

@Paramite, yes I did. Sniper loves his Jarate too much to spare me some.

@ExtraCheeseyPie, my old Art Teacher basically let me use whatever I wanted. So I took some clay home. A lot of it. She was only going to throw it out anyway. Also, where the hell do you think I got the parts for my medigun? From the convenience store? Pfft.

@Omega, it's a bust of the ancient Greek, Hippocrates, the 'Father of all medicine'. Doctors still take the Hippocratic Oath today... Well, I took the Hippocratic Suggestion.
