Take a break from the game for the weekend-- there's many other games that are better.

IP bans would be useless as there are numerous ways to avoid bans that way. Vac bans tied to accounts are infinitely better. Also, news flash, activision doesn't care about your comfort, all they want is money and free weekends lead to new customers which means, you've guessed it, more money.

IP ban, LOL! I can have a new one in a few seconds. Just have to connect to my router and press Disconnect and after that Connect. Tadaa, new IP. And some innocent sod that gets my banned IP (if i would cheat) will not be able to play and be very confused.

IP Bans = useless
Hardware Bans = useless
Account Ban = only working solution at the moment.

Ip bans are as futile as resetting your router to get a new IP adress...

And the free weekend has brought something basides free cheaters.
A lot of money to Activision... It's #1 seller on steam right now

Valve/Steam/VAC love hackers/cheaters.

I have report many hackers, have it on tape, the hackers have pictures
of his hack skills in his Steam profile, i report it to...
but guess what...........the hacker/cheater is still playing after
report months ago. So VAC Fails.

VAC IS TO OLD FOR THE TWENTY-FIST CENTURY

Steam dont care, they have other things on their minds
like the new CS, that will also be a big hack party.
Not one game that use VAC is good, only games that use Punkbuster
are good, not extreem, but any anticheat is better than VAC.

I hope one day it will get to there brains.

You again ... really?

You may note that BF3 and other games that use PB are just as cheater filled as most other games, as the vitriol in their respective forums will show.

Nothing is perfect, you're always going to be disappointed if you expect so.

You can upload any image to the Steam profile, even edited ones.

VAC doesn't ban on user reports.

Sorry, the only thing failing is your understanding.

VAC is not controlled by monkeys at the other side of Steam. VAC is automated. Your reports are useless because, to start, they can be faked.
Plus, it's a matter of the Game devs to implement VAC properly, which they haven't.

VAC doesn't work instantly, so free weekends tend to have cheats in them.

VAC is the most efficient way of detecting cheats, as it can take a while to find which hacks detect the VAC system killing the biggest amount of cheaters off.

The biggest issue here is the Modern Warfare series does not have dedicated servers in matchmaking, and VAC is a tool to assist server admins, not replace them.

First, it offers a placebo. Second, although it does not result in a ban, if enough reports are sent the specific account will be monitored more closely.
