When does VAC start scan in MW3?

Does someone know when VAC start scan in MW3, I know VAC loads when you start the game or even before that but when does it precisely start scan?

I don't think so, a friend of mine caught VAC, scan while he was in the main menu.

I guess he tried to join the game and couldnt... then not knowing about the delayed aspect of a ban, assumed that VAC had only just detected his cheat?

We're not talking about cheating or exploiting here, we tested this and he caught VAC3 scanning when he was in the main menu.
So I wanna no precisely when VAC starts scan.
If you don't have my answer then you don't need to post something here.

If he can tell when its scanning, why are you asking the question? Surely he knows the answer already?

Smart, but I do know that VAC usually start scan when you connect to a server that is VAC secured, so this makes no sense.

VAC module starts when you starting the game. This is very easy to detect, just go to your %temp% folder, there will be a new hidden file with time of creation when you started the game. Copy, open it with notepad, you will see vac2.dll and other text in there.

But "secure" mode starts only when you connected to VAC secured server. (in MW3 there is no not-secured servers). This is 100% correct, since in Source© games you can connect to not VAC secured server and cheat easily.
