Yes, Torchlit.net has been abandoned and has a Trojan virus. You can get a copy of that mod clean on TorchLeech. I'm not sure where else there is a clean copy right now.

I looked around for an answer but can't find one, but do any mods impact achievements? I want to play it mostly vanilla on my first run, but things like high and low texture packs (for my PC and netbook), bright map and maybe walking faster to make the experience a little better.

You can receive a few achievements from using mods. You can even get achievements by cheating and giving yourself tons of gold.

Just a question before I download these mods...

Does it ruin my existing save file? I have no mods installed when I last played.

Mods don't ruin save files, but if you remove some mods without taking the proper precautions it can cause your game to crash on start-up or character loading until you reload the mods and clean up a little.

If you are worried, you can always make a copy of your save folders before installing mods.

I would have to recommend this mod to replace the tier 3 ancient.

This mod makes infinite tiers so you will never actually outrank the gear, the new items that drop will have Mark 1, 2, 3, 4 etc ad infinitum, in their name and be better than their predecessor.

Thank you for this. Persistant Skeletons is so damn useful. Hated having to resummon them constantly.

Thank you for this, those mods make the game much more enjoyable without "cheating".I love the merchant Pack.
The 150% Haste speed one is somewhat cheating,so I decided not to use it.

It seems torchleech is offline or something, so I use HotSpot to manage the mods.It's very easy to use and install/uninstall mods, you can download it here:

Sorry to kick this topic. Is there any mod available for the enchant wipe. The 100 % enchant mod gives a dead link.

I found a mod but this also let the monsters drop unique items, don't want that.Only a mod to prevent the stats wipe.
Yesterday my axe got destroyed, want to prevent this in the future.

If there is such a mod will my achievements still work (not the enchanting ones of course)?

Pretty much this. Just launch Hotspot, go to manage mods and use the mod browser to look up mods by category.
