Help with my work!
Right, my final assignment in my Games Development class is to create a level of my own, naturally due to my small experience with Hammer, I chose to use it. Secondly I went for a horror map, but it won't be scary if I don't find a way to get some kind of visible bodies in my selected areas. How do I do this? It isn't something I've needed to do before and so I'm asking for your help.
More specifically I would like it -begin to imagine as I describe this- a woman sat in a chair with a table in front of her, face in her hands with her elbows on the table... Any ideas? Something remotely like this would be nice...

place an npc citizen in the map by the chair and set animation to d1_t01_TrainRide_Sit_Idle which is under the model tab of the npc_citizen properties {thats the closest pose you'll find :/}

Is it possible to create your own poses? And are they silent NPCs in this case?

You'd need to create animations for them in 3DS max to do that. And no, they can have facial animations included as well as speech.

I mean no harm, but I don't believe one can convey the feeling of a character as much without drama teachers there to tell them if the character feels horrific or scared or tired. In Half-Life 2, the citizens sitting at their tables, heads buried in their faces showed how downtrodden and lethargic they were, how they couldn't rise up against the machine that took over the human race--refer to the first chapter of Half-Life 2.
The metrocops were a lot more menacing because their chests were potruded more and they stood straight. |

Right, I've found an animation which fits the job. Is there a separate way to go about doing corpses? I haven't really dealt with this in mapping for CSS.

Also, though in the editor it shows an npc with the sitting animation on the chair, it doesn't appear in-game, why is this?

I've fixed the problem of it not appearing in the actual game, and I'll try the prop_ragdoll soon enough. Are the pre-set positions for this ragdoll or do they start in that odd starfish like shape :L?
