Is save supposed to be this way in JC2?!

When I save in JC2 it saves to the beginning of an area and not where I left off at. Is this a bug or does this game save that way to checkpoints only? If so, then why can I save it whenever I want to? I'm confused... :-)

Yes this is normal. If you save yourself or autosave the game will load you to the nearest unlocked area.

Everything you did is saved, you just start from the closest faction HQ.

Kinda sad actually because the game play is actually very good and it graphically is a very nice looking game. But the biggest game killers in my opinion are redundancy, timed tasks and water levels were the player is simply crippled.
