Indeed, there's no new dropper.

The editor shows 4 droppers: white (portable surface), blue (jumping), red (speed) and light blue (water, to clear the other 3)

It's a new model.

It's a brown/gray cylinder with some little pipes and the colour highlight of the gel that it drops.

They're pretty.
(I don't have the beta, I've just been tracking down clips and pics where I can).

I want to see what they've done with the box dropper, because it doesn't actually fit on the grid that the editor seems to be working on. If you put it in the very corner, does it clip into the walls?

Here it is... Indeed, it's a new one.. I think Valve made it to have a visual difference between the gel and the cube droppers... It was sometimes hard to see in custom maps what's a cube- and whats a gel dropper.

That gel was on a constant 'high' stream so it all morphed together, I think it's the same.

We made a special smaller version of some items to make them fit better with the 128x128 grid. This includes the box dropper.

I dont understand why they didn't just use the model of it from the Wheatley chambers.

The style in Wheatley's chambers were the same as in the old chambers, the concept being that Aperture didn't have access to the paint, and they were just shoved in when you unlocked the old Aperture and reconnected them.

So for the clean and professional style of the new chambers in the PTI, it made more sense to have a new and updated style of gel dropper.

I think it looks really nice.
