Question about helicopters

In the loading screen I saw tip that said you have to use seaplanes or helicopters to acquire some aerocaches. So are helicopters in the game already or are they being added as dlc?

There are no helicopters available at this time. However there may be DLC in the future that contains a helicopter.

(just another little detail that detracts from the immersion value)
Or... you can fly straight towards those hard to get aerocaches and when the screen flashes yellow and you are about 5 feet away from crashing, you simply press M and reposition yourself somewhere save in the air. That's how I got all the hard to reach aerocaches. The hard to get ones at the bottom of waterfalls and so on, I simply dived towards without ANY chance of getting out there in one piece if it hadn't been for the glorious M key!

I have collected all the aerocaches (that come with the game) apart from the two high ones without leaving the plane. Yes, I know it's cheating, but aerocaches are a bonus to me and I only play them when I am bored.

Heh, I did the Map trick once, before I found a more legitimate technique to get the "waterfall" ones... Power out, slow down, full flaps, right on the edge of a stall directly over the top of the waterfall. Drop a wing, then the nose, vertical dive right down the face of the cliff while rolling to point the canopy away from the cliff, pulling out right as you collect the aerocache. Full throttle and fly away, pulling the flaps back in.

I smacked a few trees doing that, but always managed to keep the plane in the air and recover.

Jeroen, Jeroen.......
disappointed in you,
and you're missing half the fun.

All aerocaches have been flyable, *

I would say that there is also an unreachable cache at 80,000ft which would indicate that there is a possibility in the future DLC that will provide a plane with the ceiling to reach it.

Ok so we are on the same frequency now, allow me to say it.

The emphasis is on the fact that no one would have ever expected a so inconsistent DLC in the first months of Flight, that leads to consider the release of a jet IMO a remote possibility, so remote that it may be even not taken into consideration by MS.

Of course if a plane able to reach such altitude will be released I fear it will be one without cockpit.

I dunno, the release schedule has been pretty consistent for me and fit with their announced plans so far. One plane per month, scenery every 3 to 4 months.

Yop all

"Yep there's also an unreachable cache at 80,000ft which would indicate that there will be future"

80 grand, try at least 90, my goal was to try at least to get the curvature of the earth, which I took off from hilo and flew at a steady climb towards Honolulu, which the aero detector read 10 miles above me at 40 grand.

what we may find in the future is a combo package for "Space Ship One" and the "White Night" seeing that project and Flight have one thing in common.
