Do you guys realize that yoy get killed behind cover because modern-day guns shoot bullets even through walls?
It's not a bug, it's called realism.

Some walls yes, but not all and the situation being discussed here isn't due to this but one if the problems with bf3s client side hitcode, which I don't mind dealing with because on the flip side my shots land when they should which wasn't the case with bc2.

The only walls that you can really shoot through in BF3 is like.

Thin metal walls. (The bus on Metro doesn't count for some reason)
Wooden doors
Maybe some objects on the ground.

Everything else is pretty much bullet proof. So no this isn't a feature. You need to play the game more to learn what parts of BF3 walls can be shot through.

In BC2 it was different though. There you could shoot through most houses with the tank LMG. In Vietnam they stepped it up to the point where you could shoot through almost every building the in the game.

Its the Client Side hit detection, your ping doesn't matter that much, what matters is what's being displayed on the screen. For example, if on your screen you are already behind cover but in your opponents screen he still sees you and manages to hit you, it will register that. That's what Client Side hit detection means, if you see it and you shot it on your screen, it will register, doesn't matter if the guy is already behind cover on his screen.

Hit detection is client side. AKA lag compensation. They hit what they see, regardless of where you are on your end. The game is so unforgiving regarding damage that you will still die a lot behind cover even at 22 ping.

the answer is something like that. It has been discussed in BF3 forums and many said the same.
