Dota 2 Disconnects + Low priority

Disconnected for 7 minutes, power went off in my house.
(Friends coffee machine too stronk lol)

Reconnected to a 50 minute game.
Finding myself 4v5.
Won it against 3 clan tagged players.
Got two days low priority, what a result.

Not sure where to post this, seems like a valve problem.
Thanks

This isn't a bug. After disconnecting you have five minutes to reconnect before that game considers you having abandoned it. Abandoning games puts you in the low priority queue. This is to deter people from just rage quitting games.

Also Dota 2 discussion should go on the PlayDota forums or the Dev forum.

Ok I understand.
But I did reconnect to the game and had a major role in winning it:
Furion with necro push.

Sorry to waste your time Jagged Tooth, just ticked me off now I won't be able to play with friends in 5 man que later tonight.
Have a nice day.

I agree that it's pretty crappy he got put in low priority. He made an attempt to reconnect, and was actually the reason his team won, yes he's still punished? When you DC you should have the entire match to reconnect, sometimes there really is a legit reason people DC (as in connection issues). You shouldn't be punished by the game for it, ESPECIALLY after winning the game.

If local power drops is happening often for you, you might want to buy an UPS...
And yes, leaving from the game even for 5 minutes is sometimes crucial.
Dota is ragefest, btw.

2 days for 1 disconnect is pretty harsh. Especially in this game, he was playing with friends. If they don't want to punish him for disconnecting, why should dota? The point of LPP is to encourage a better community. I don't think ridiculing someone for power outage or crappy internet service (something we should all sympathize with) moves us towards a better gaming community. the LPP needs to be looked at. Getting into LPP for 1 or 2 disconnects is kinda harsh - and getting into it for 2 days when your own team didn't report you makes no sense.

You don't get put in low-priority instantly for only one abandon. It took me I think four abandons (significant connection issues too) to hit low-priority the first time.

I'm not rly sure about that. I got only one leave at time and then got one day with low-priority. I don't know what's about that.
