How do I enable VAC on my server?

Hi I'm new to running servers and I rent one. When L4D2 was first released I noticed that VAC was not enabled by my server because I use HLSW to track my server and it says no Anticheat Tool Used. Also when I use the L4D2 server browser it says my server is not VAC secured.

Then when the Sourcemod and Metamod for L4D2 was released I installed them and VAC was enabled again. However, after the recent L4D2 update on Novemebr 27th I had to reset my server and now it doesn't have VAC enabled. Then on last Sunday I found out VAC was enabled on my server. Unfortunately now my server does not have VAC enabled. I don't know why, I did not mess around with the settings, it just does not have VAC enabled on my server anymore. It suddenly went from VAC being enabled on a Sunday morning to VAC being off in the afternoon and VAC has been off ever since. So how do I enable VAC on my server?

Either the VAC servers are having problems, or your server is having trouble connecting to the VAC servers.

If your server is having trouble connecting to VAC, contact your server provider.

I contacted them and they rebooted my server and now VAC is enabled for my server.
