Question about pre-orders !!

Hii guys ,

I just got Black ops 2 as a gift from a friend and i added the game in my library , i see the game in my library and also in the account details , but when i visit the store page, it doesn't tell me that i already own the game , you know when you have a game on your account , you can't purchause unless it is a gift , but here in this case , the option of buying it for myself is open in the store page , so anyone knows what's that about ?
And,
I also heard that if steam added a free game in the deal for the pre-order later , i get it too even it is a gift , is that right ?

Same with Torchlight 2 it is probably just that as the game hasn't been released yet it is not registering on your account as being owned.

Until the game is released it won't show up. Same goes to your Steam Profile. If you check your Steam Profile it won't be in there either.

Preorders generally have a different appid to the released game. So it won't show as owned.

If your friend bought the game he probably got the free game as offered, like you said he sent you the copy of black ops, he may have kept the free game for himself.

No there is no extra free game offer right now , but what if steam puts this extra game offer later , who would get the game , me or my friend ? or neither one of us get the extra game since he bought it without the offer ?
