Stuck on a mission

Stuck on adventure mission. I can't seem to find the pirate south-west of new orleans. I looked for 2hrs on x1,x5,and x10. >.<

Search the coastline as if you are searching a city and you will find it.

he is in a small cove smack inbetween the two towns (corpus christi and whatever the other one is called)

Haven't played the campaign (I always dive into the free play game mode right away) but I figure it's using the same mechanic. I start by just hovering around where I'm thinking they'll be. Watch for the black sails and see if you can figure out the general direction he's going to or from. They tend to go pretty much as the crow flies so it shouldn't be hard to extrapolate. Then you sit and wait until a new ship is sent out or an existing one comes back. Note that sometimes you'll need to be really close (a few times, I've literally had to sit within pixels of the spot on the coast before it counts the hideout as being found).
