Add more save points in Hard Mode. As the game clearly wasn't designed to be OHKO, hard mode's difficulty ends up being faked in certain locations because most of it is just chance-y tedium. Many of the bosses aren't actually that difficult, but the player is allowed only one practice run against them after many tries just to reach them. Final Boss is a prime example, given the number of bosses leading up to it, as well as Bonus Boss, which has a hellish stage to get through just filled with randomness.

If not that, then Boss Rush mode should be accessible sooner. I don't want to have to play through the game in Normal/Easy just to unlock it so I can practice for Hard mode, when I'm already RIGHT NEXT to the end in Hard.

Skip cutscenes after one runthrough in the current play. It's obvious the game is already aware, given that you can speed through the text, but it's still freaking annoying to have to watch the cutscene over and over again just because you get killed almost instantly when the battle starts. Animations don't go by any quicker either.

I think achievement fixes are a given.

I'd like to see a boss practice mode. I know there's boss rush, but I don't want to go through every boss just to get to Ballos for practice. Even supposing you can beat it impossibly quick at 7 minutes total, that's still around 6 minutes of boss rush to practice that battle once.

It would be unlocked similarly to the challenges, once you get the best ending, it shows up. Either that or it could be available from the beginning of the game and you only see the bosses you've already encountered (although this sounds better, it also sounds more technically challenging to me).

Can't close without saying that I love this game and feel like it's easily the best $10 I've spent in ages. Yes, I know there's a free version, I played it years ago, but there's so much added value that I'd probably have paid $30 if that's what it was selling for. Much gratitude!

I'd like to see Nicalis actually update the OS X version of the game so that it has the Remastered soundtrack like the Windows and Linux versions.

call me stupid and unskilled, but I'd love a "Quick Save" option so you don't have to go through Hell again and again once you die against Ballos T_T

"YAH, GOT THROUGH HELL"
*dies against Ballos*
*respawn at Prefab House*
"............."
*proceed to cry*

How about being able to play the game at my computer's native resolution (1366x768) without a drop in quality?

Steam Cloud

Not much else to say. Steam cloud is a simple feature that every PC Steam game should have.

+1 for Steam Cloud support. Cave Story+ is one of the few games I can play on the old desktop computer I have hooked up to my HDTV as a makeshift media center PC and I own a wireless gamepad. The game looks fantastic on a big screen, but copying save files back and forth is a hassle. I'd definitely play Cave Story+ more often (and more often on my HDTV) if Steam Cloud support was added for save files.

My save file (Profile.dat) is approximately 129KB; I don't know if save file sizes differ between computers, but if all save files are that small, adding Steam Cloud support seems feasible.
