quick and auto saves only?
I just redownloaded Oblivion after being semi-disappointed in Skyrim and wanting to play Elder Scrolls. Oblivion is refusing to make save files. I open the esc menu to save a game, click new then the game confirms save successful. I open the load screen still only the one auto save and one quick save. Any suggestions?

If you are running Vista or Window 7, go into your "My Documents" folder and then look in "My Games" folder inside of the My Documents folder. You should see an "Oblivion" folder. Look in there for the saved games files. I have "auto" and "quick" saves as well as the save files I create using the "esc" command.

You may have bumped Tab or a directional arrow when naming your character, which bugs the game and won't let you hard save.
Bring up the console with the tilde key "`", then type "player.setactorfullname xxx" where xxx is the name you want for you character, and see if that solves it. |

What exactly did you type? Don't use the parentheses.
player.setactorfullname name If your characters name has a space between two names, then put parentheses around the name itself. player.setactorfullname "first lastname" |

Good deal. Now you can start modding until you break the game and have to come back with more questions, lol.
