You have STEAM Cloud, STEAM achievements, STEAM leaderboards, automatic updates, etc. whatever STEAMworks features is included in the game ONLY if you buy the game on STEAM. Any other version don't have such features.

No doubt that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be on Steam,since most of Ubisoft's games are on Steam anyways.

Looks like Alan Wake should be removed, because GOG is selling a DRM free version of the game that doesn't need Steam.

BUT is the only 'DRM Free' version around. If you buy the game on any other store, the game is still STEAMworks...

Yeah its like steamworks games in the Humble Bundles, they have a DRM free version and the Steam version

Also Bioshock Infinite is for 2013 now

The problem with this thread is it isn't useful on a practical level. A game can be "Steamworks" even if it only contains one feature of the API, and it really doesn't mean anything to whether you will be able to activate the game on Steam should you buy it elsewhere. The only useful list would be one that informed people of the stores that stocked Steam versions of the various games. And perhaps a list of games that require activation of Steam regardless of how you obtain them, so Skyrim but not Super Meat Boy for example.

- 99.9% of STEAMworks game have at least achievements.
- You have all the info about STEAmworks features on each game page (Cloud, leaderboards, VAC, etc.)
- A STEAMworks game means it REQUIRE STEAM in order to play. So if "only STEAM version" is not specified it means no matter where you buy the game it's gonna require STEAm activation.
- A list of retail games that can be activated on STEAM are already linked in the first page.
