Reinstalled Rage, Cant Save Game

I copied my Rage savegame folder on a flash drive
Then I reinstalled windows on my PC
Then I reinstalled Rage on my PC
Then I put the savegame folder in what I think is the proper spot
Then I run Rage, and see my saved games when I play Rage
I load a saved game

But I cannot save off that saved game. I press F5 and it just makes a beep and there is no tab to save a game either in the menu.

So I can access my old saved games but i cannot save any further progress

Please help!

I just started a new game got outside of the cryogenic area then I was able to save.

Then i went back to my old game. left town and was able to save.
