Overall I've always had a very good experience with Steam and it's games.
Some could nitpick some errors but it's actually one of the most flawless computer game platforms. However, lately I've been experiencing many freezes while I'm chatting, or random disconnections. Many times when I'm writing to a friend, steam windows freeze and I have to wait about 30 seconds for it to return to normal and be able to send my message. I've not changed my hardware or installed a big application lately, and my internet works while steam goes offline randomly so I believe it's not a problem on my end. This didn't happen the last 4 years I've been using steam and I hope it gets fixed. Code:

Try resetting your router and modem.
If that doesn't help, maybe there is a broken driver for your network interface? |

Weird is that only the steam window freezes, the other windows work! And when steam disconnects from "friends", google chrome and skype are still connected and I can contact my friends from there, meaning my internet connection is working. That's why I posted here, maybe to 'notify' some developer or something like that. It could be that steam now requires more CPU or more RAM than it did before and my PC can't cope with it. |

I can confirm this. Steam needs incredibly lot of CPU resources for a strange reason and when it cannot get enough it's just freezing and disconnecting, sometimes crashing.
